Angel's Envy's 10th cask strength bourbon release with a port wine barrel finish arrived in November 2021. The series, which began in 2012, was established by Wes Henderson alongside his son Kyle and the late Master Distiller Lincoln Henderson. Barrels selected for their distinction are given an extended finishing period in port wine barrels sourced from Portugal. This bottling registers at 120.7 proof, with 14,760 bottles distributed in the U.S.

- First serving. - It absolutely drinks like it's barrel proof. - Officially 120.7 proof, however, it registers warmer than that until the influence of raisins and wine appears on the finish. - Quite decadent and substantial. - The finish of "mild tannins, apricot, and smoke" accurately reflects my palate as well. - 4.5/5
Some tasting notes mention blueberry compote and almond honey. My family perceives pralines and Christmas cake. This is an overpriced dessert in a bottle. I don't intend to disparage the creation, but I feel the price is a bit high. I'd rather allocate my funds elsewhere. Perhaps novices who haven't experienced great bourbon might start with this.
Sweet and smooth, with a subtle aftertaste. It lacks the syrupy notes found in more common bourbons. A good everyday sipping bourbon. Additionally, the bottle's unique and cool design is a significant aesthetic benefit for your home bar.
It's sweet initially, then a sour grape aroma leads into a tart caramel flavor. The finish is charred and tart from the barrel. It's not bad, but it's not amazing. I received it as a gift, and I wouldn't purchase it myself or order it at a bar. Still, I might give it another shot.
Among lighter bourbons, this one offers good flavor. It's not essential to seek out, but it's a very good option for beginners.
