anCnoc Rutter

Very surprising and remarkable. It greets you with a smooth, milky scent of almond, sweet citrus, ginger, and of course peat and smoke (not much - the peat is quite gentle here) and leather. Then things become unusual (in a good way) - some classic creamy anCnoc notes are undeniable (coconut palate and butter) mixed with an amazing taste of pepper, tar, and bitumen, with peat and citrus again. The finish is also persistent and deep - bitter tar and leather on the edges of the tongue with deep sweetness and cinnamon.

An incredible whisky. It's light at first, but quickly fills your mouth with a delightful peppery herbal taste, followed by a subtle smokiness that transforms everything into a green apple and pear pie celebration. Well-balanced, encompassing, very user-friendly, and simply amazing overall. Nose: pear, white grape must, pepper Taste: slight butter, peat, granny smith, pear, pepper Finish: Faint salt/brine, peppered beef jerky, fruity undertone, some ash, with a honey nuance

The reviews from people not associated with the distillery were bad, but this is a well-made drink. It has a very light, airy peat character... it's only 11 PM, but it's not too terrible, despite my low expectations.
