90 proof and “aged for at least 36 months”. I've consumed several of these bottles over time, and I'm certain I'll buy more later. I decided to post a review for it on this platform. Nose: Cornbread, acetone, brown sugar, anise, lemon, a hint of caramel trying to stay hidden. Palate: Buttered corn, butterscotch, oily peanuts, a touch of spearmint. Finish: Toasted oak, baking spices, licorice. Quite similar, yet not entirely the same, as the Ancient Ancient Age 10 Star (AAA 10 Star). This also doesn't offer much complexity. It's quite strong with corn notes. However, it's a relatively decent value considering it's 90 proof and cost $9 or $10 per bottle. I've only encountered this 90 proof version in Kentucky. The 80 proof version is widely available. I like to use this as one of my everyday whiskeys. One that I don't need to contemplate or worry about when out hiking, fishing, riding, or engaging in other activities. I wouldn't expect many people to drink this straight, nor would I necessarily advise it - except for its value.

The flavor fades quickly but is sufficient initially for a respectable pour. It offers typical sweetness with a subtle spicy note. While quite young, the 90 proof provides enhanced flavor without an overwhelming alcohol burn. It's priced the same as the standard Ancient Age, making it an easy choice.

Honestly, this makes the two bottles of Blanton's I've had seem inferior. It shares the same mash bill and distillery as Blanton's. In a blind tasting, this Ancient Age 90 consistently outperformed it. For a $25 half-gallon, this is an absolute must-buy. Transfer it to a decanter, and your friends will be raving about it.

Nose: Intense sweet corn aromas with a whisper of caramel. Palate: Rich and full, featuring sweet corn, vanilla, nutmeg, and a finish of dark chocolate. Finish: Lingering bitter cocoa complemented by notes of fresh green grass and mint. Enjoyed neat. This is a fantastic whiskey, perfect for crafting a sweeter Old Fashioned.

Among the current selection available, this is the best.

Good, but like a benchmark full proof diluted.
