Surprisingly rich and well-balanced. Using unusual botanicals from small distilleries always carries a risk of gimmickry, and with the Alpengin Hay, the hint of hay on the nose is mostly what you get. However, the flavors are quite smooth, opening up into a blend of Alpine wildflowers and a certain summer sweetness, underpinned by the dry hay. Tonic water doesn't overpower the flavors too much, making it a well-crafted and enjoyable experience overall.
