Margery Martell 2.8

The initial smell from the bottle is tequila, not overpowering but definitely there. A second, gentler sniff reveals aromas of crystallized orange and mellow caramel candy. The flavors closely resemble the smells. I detect a shift between tequila, candied orange, and the citrus zest of orange. Subsequent sips offer more orange than tequila. Is that right? A touch of caramel emerges in the finish. The sipping journey has a slight alcoholic spice. It actually works well in cocktails, offering that sweet orange profile. While it's a decent rum, I occasionally require a specific mood for it, much like a rum with a pronounced bourbon character. My preference is for 'rum,' not bourbon or tequila. Evaluation based on neat tasting.
