Alexander Murray & Co. is the independent bottler responsible for the Ainsley Brae single malt line, with each expression originating from an undisclosed distillery in the Scottish Highlands. This bottling, which does not specify an age, first matures in barrels that previously held American bourbon, followed by a finishing period in Spanish sherry casks from Jerez.

Nose: Sweet candied orange. Palate: Orange and honey. Sweet. Short finish. Light spices. Lacks complexity, with prominent sherry sweetness but little else beneath it. The sherry cask finish heavily defines this whisky. Summary: Very drinkable, but otherwise unremarkable. Not worth purchasing again, even at its low price point.
I doubt you could find a superior scotch at the price point of $25 from Total Wines. This bottle could rival many costing over $80.
The finish is quite pleasant. It's clean, sweet, and offers a distinct flavor. A solid purchase for what it costs.
The sherry notes are prominent. This is an excellent scotch for casual drinking!
