Aberlour Casg Annamh (Batch 4)

Nose: Honey, boiled sweets, light sherry. Palate: Sugared breakfast cereal, spicy (ginger, nutmeg, star anise), tawny port, sherry. Finish: Medium long with coffee, dark chocolate, black cherries, black pepper. Overall, a nice whisky. It's easy-drinking and straightforward, quite sherried, with an initial kick that quickly mellows. It goes down very smoothly, leaving a pleasant, slightly sour, chocolate cherry aftertaste.

Nose: Apples! Strawberry, very faint vanilla, deep spices over the oaky foundation. Almost no alcohol, fresh grass. Taste: Caramel, sweetness followed by sharp green apples, bitter chocolate, and a mild burn.

Honey graham cracker, apples, pears, subtle spices, vanilla, and sherry notes on the nose, palate, and medium-length finish. A pleasant, oily mouthfeel. Extremely easy to drink at 48% ABV. A really nice whiskey.

As usual, you can expect a good whiskey from Aberlour. However, it's not the best Aberlour I've had; perhaps it's due to the high ABV and the considerable burn.

Nose: Oil, ethanol, spice, lemons, and vanilla. Palate: Oil, caramel, chocolate, ethanol. Finish: Fiery, lemons, oil, and spice. Very short.

Features raisin and apple notes with a smooth finish.
