Nose: notes of marshmallow, bright lemon and orange, black currant, candied apple, hints of apple cider but leaning sweeter, with a foundation of oak. Palate: mirrors the nose well, delivering a fresh, sweet-sour, fruity profile with walnut undertones. Finish: maintains fruitiness and citrus notes, slightly dry, with moderate length. A very pleasant drink, though a previous 12-year expression was preferred for its smoother, more rounded fruit delivery. Overall, a solid whiskey with enough complexity for repeated enjoyment. I plan to try the 18-year next.

[APPEARANCE] Inviting rosé pink color, clumped small legs [NOSE] Wildflower, faint licorice. [PALATE] Early honeysuckle gives way to kiwi skin tartness that fades to a light oak smokiness, two dimensional, lacking complexity [FINISH] Pink peppercorn followed by shallow tanniny smoke that ends too soon [MOUTHFEEL] Smooth, light and syrupy
Well balanced, without smoke/peat, a less smooth finish than anticipated.
Outstanding sweetness complemented by a full, mellow finish. A personal favorite!
