Aalborg Taffel, also known as Red Label Aalborg, is a caraway-flavored aquavit. The name 'Taffel' translates to 'table,' and it represents the standard bottling for the Danish brand, which was first introduced in 1846. This aquavit is bottled at 90 proof.

Caraway is the primary scent, with undertones of pepper. On the palate, I detect notes of melon and apple, rather than the orange suggested by the label. The finish is fairly long but gentle, although the caraway's sharpness persists throughout.
A truly delightful akvavit, with a dominant caraway flavor. It's very smooth and mellow. I shared it with several individuals new to akvavit, which can sometimes be divisive, and everyone enjoyed it. It also offers good value.
