The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) offered this single cask, single malt, which was distilled in 1996. It falls under the society's "Oily & Coastal" designation. It spent two decades in a first-fill oloroso sherry hogshead before being bottled at 49.3% ABV directly from the cask. Consistent with all SMWS bottlings, it is non-chillfiltered. This expression was launched to coincide with the 2018 Fèis Ìle, being one of three whiskies produced for the event.

A rounded nose with a slight peatiness, a bit caramelized, splendid, what balance! An upfront attack that quickly builds and delivers a superb hit of peat, what a pleasure! It's refined, nothing is out of place, everything is perfect. The finish is very, very long but subtle, peaty but not excessively so, a bit of iodine and smoke on the tongue, a biiiiiig enjoyment!
