Barrel #76. Incredible mouthfeel. The sweetness and spice notes are perfectly balanced, compelling another sip repeatedly. You do detect a hint of minty herbal notes from the rye, but the sweetness dominates, resembling a sugary peppermint stick.

About this bottle
Dixon Dedman, the creator of the "Two Times Oak" (2XO) brand, presents Gem of Kentucky, a double-barreled single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon. The selected single barrels were crafted using a high-rye mash bill, featuring 35% rye, and underwent up to a year of secondary aging in new oak barrels that were either #3 or #4 charred. Each barrel's unique flavor profile will be indicated on the front label. This limited annual release began in November 2023 with a suggested retail price of $199.99.

Barrel #21: Abundant oak and vanilla on the nose, with orange pith, rye spice, more oak and vanilla, coffee cake, cardamom, and rye fruitiness masked by the oak and vanilla. Oily mouthfeel, with a cherry finish.
Another great 2XO Blend! Pronounced oak and caramelized sugar on the nose, significant oak presence, and a very nice medium/long finish. This is my second favorite 2XO (Sneakerhead Blend #1).
The high rye content provides a wonderful holiday flavor profile. I appreciate the pronounced oak character in this. It's very smooth and excellent for sipping. It reminds me of an oaked MWND. I would purchase this annually.
It gets better with every return visit! The complex nose and flavors are outstanding!
