Appearance: Ruby red, like Dr Pepper cola, and thick. Nose: Ethanol and sour stone fruits. Palate: A tangy fruitiness followed by an astringent sensation (perhaps too long in the barrel?), fading into mellow chocolate and coffee notes. Finish: It burns for a while going down, with significant cinnamon and wood flavors. A long finish. Quite interesting, but the astringent qualities on the nose, palate, and finish prevent a higher rating.
