Yellowstone Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Tokaji Casks (2023 Limited Edition)

The color shows brilliant brass with a touch of caramel. The aroma features mild caramel, lightly toasted white bread, rich corn, earthy barn notes, and lemon cake topped with vanilla icing. It feels smooth on the palate, with its warmth appearing gradually and enhancing the underlying spice. You can detect a subtle note of dry roasted peanuts and their husks. This is remarkably intricate. An herbaceous characteristic emerges: maybe rosemary-infused wood? A whisper of maltiness also appears. It presents a deep, sweet wood character and a sense of earthy forest floor. The finish has a moderate duration. This might be the best Beam product I've tried so far!

Nose: Powdered sugar appears first, followed by a grainy aroma and marshmallow. There's a suggestion of orange. Palate: Orange is upfront, with maple syrup, then shifts to toast and sweet almonds. It has a noticeable bite, different from earlier versions. A Russell's yeast characteristic marks the finish with graham cracker and baking spices. The sweetness from the barrel finish masks any oak influence from the 16-year aging, unfortunately.

Nose - Smells clearly of herbs. A rich cherry note remains. Sweet corn appears first, followed by those herbal scents. Palate - The tokaji wood stands out; it's woody, not oaky. Subtle butter, vanilla, and a hint of mint. Finish - Echoes the palate with the addition of cinnamon.

Very smooth fruit upfront, finishing with a pleasant kick.

Peanuts are very prominent at 4.45. Light char. Very pleasing.

The finish certainly brings out the tokaji flavor.
