The House of Suntory presents this Yamazaki bottling as one of four in the 2022 Tsukuriwake Selection, a limited collection of single malts from Yamazaki Distillery that emphasizes the brand's foundational whisky-making principles. The term "Tsukuriwake" translates to "artisanship through a diversity of making," and this specific release showcases single malts aged in 480L puncheon casks made from American oak. Suntory views Puncheon casks as central to Yamazaki's character. Originally launched in Japan in 2020, it became available in select global markets, including the US, as of June 2022.
