About this bottle
This exceptionally limited edition whisky represents a distillation of the distillery's history. The spirit was initially put down in the 1960s, a significant period known as the Japanese "Showa" era for the distillery. It is a composite of single malts, featuring two distinct elements: one distilled in 1960 under the guidance of Suntory's founder, Shinjiro Torii, and aged in Mizunara casks; the other distilled in 1964 under Suntory's Second Master Blender, Keizo Saji, and aged in White Oak casks. Suntory's Fifth-Generation Chief Blender, Shinji Fukuyo, collaborated closely with Third-Generation Master Blender, Shingo Torii, to create the final blend. The whisky is bottled at 46% ABV, with a global release of 100 bottles across Japan, the US, the UK, Mainland China, and Taiwan, commencing on September 9, 2021.
