Rating: 15/23 It's surprising and disheartening to discover an entry for Woodinville Vodka here. I hadn't assumed anyone else was aware of it. When Woodinville was acquired, they were required to cease advertising their vodka to avoid clashing with Belvedere, a peculiar approach in my opinion. However, they can still produce it, so I've heard they're happy to sell a bottle if you ask at the distillery. Given this unusual history and the fact that I don't possess a bottle, I was somewhat anticipating writing "Woodinville Vodka - 40% ABV - Wheat" on a notepad and capturing that image for the official site. Unfortunately, we must all make do with this picture of the actual bottle instead. Nose: The aroma is noticeable and doesn't carry the harshness of pure alcohol. It's slightly sweet with an aroma reminiscent of cereal. Palate: It has a moderate thickness with a sweetness that suggests agave or perhaps butterscotch, combined with a slightly briny and faintly herbal oiliness. This reminds me of a blanco tequila, like La Partida, or a milder Fortaleza. There is a touch of harshness that emerges, which is a letdown but not a complete failure. Finish: The flavors linger for a short time, especially the oily brine and a subtle hint of agave. The harshness persists somewhat but isn't overly offensive. Depending on its cost, I may consider purchasing a bottle. I don't believe it surpasses Chopin Wheat, but I think it's comparable to Beluga Noble and Ocean. My assessment is 15 points.
