Wolcott Rickhouse Reserve Bourbon

This is a decent bottle. I believe many would enjoy the flavor profile, but it's not personally my preference. Maple syrup, pecan, and spice on the nose It's a dark flavor profile. Dark caramel. Oak. Apple. More of that pecan note and heavy spice. It's not what I seek in a pour. To me, something is missing. But I still appreciate it. It finishes with coffee bean. More spice. Burnt oak. Lingers for a while and coats the mouth well, which I wouldn't have guessed, as it appeared somewhat thin in my glass. It's a bit too nutty for my taste. It's a dominant flavor in the bottle. If it sounds appealing to you, then I'd recommend it... It's $43, and for the proof, it's not a bad deal.

A rich Bourbon from Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, bottled at 120 proof. It begins with aromas of grains, wood, fruits, nuts, herbs & spices; a rich body adds notes of sweet corn, brown sugar, stone fruits, maple & vanilla; leading to a warm, medium-length finish with notes of oak, toasted marshmallow, ripe plantains & rye spice.

The nose presents a funky leather smoke. The palate is hot, sharp, with smoky oak, suggesting a heavily charred barrel. A little ice softens and smooths it slightly. I'm still evaluating this bottle, as it has good foundational elements but requires more tasting to determine if it will be a keeper. It's not yet a top-shelf selection. Strong flavor. Caramel, nutty, with a burnt note. Coats the mouth well. Has a consistent warmth as it goes down. I'll try it again with water next time. For the price, it's a solid bourbon.

A strong ethanol aroma. The first sip is intense with ethanol, caramel, and spice. It continues strongly, with pure caramel, and finishes with a slight, pleasant burn. Some oak notes are present. Remains potent.

Series #0182 This one is amazing and packed with flavors like vanilla, spices, caramel, apricot, apple, and nuts. A splash of water helps. The aroma is also wonderful.
