Black Maple Hill has established a reputation over time for being a highly sought-after, super-premium bourbon, largely due to its exceptionally small-batch releases. I served this bourbon for years before I fully grasped how good it is. They now make their whiskey in Oregon, not Kentucky, but this edition is the last one made while in Kentucky. A must-own if I ever find it again!!
Sweet aroma with hints of honey and caramel. A tad bit of spice. On the palate, it's not as sweet as the smell. Mild caramel remains, but the sweetness is replaced with rye spice and a mild oak flavor. Mild spice on the finish. Good sipper.
My favorite bourbon I've owned. I purchased it last year when you could occasionally find a bottle, but for the past year, it's been impossible to locate.

As one might anticipate, this wonderful bourbon evokes the taste of maple syrup. It's exceptionally smooth and simply delicious!
I spent $30 for a serving in Louisville, which wasn't justified by the price, but I did enjoy the balanced complexity.
