Winston Lee North American Blended Whiskey

A pale yellow hue graces this whiskey, with very thin, viscous trails descending the glass. The nose is light and fresh, offering scents of dry hay, grass, garden herbs, vanilla, leather, lemon, dried apricot, and orchard fruits, especially pear. The palate presents an oily texture and a taste that is richer yet less complex than the aroma suggested. Flavors of vanilla, caramel, maple, and dry grass are present. The finish is gentle, slowly diminishing and fading like a classic 80's rock ballad. This mix of North American whiskeys from Lee Spirits is not bad. I wouldn't call it their finest work, as Lee's expertise lies in gin, but it's still a respectable blend. If memory serves, it combines bourbon, Canadian whisky, and a white dog rye.
