Tasting Methodology: Neat in a Canadian Glencarin glass. Rested for 10 minutes. Nose: green apple, vanilla Mouthfeel: smooth. Palate: caramel Finish: unremarkable Rating: 7/10. I likely won't purchase it again. Price paid: $30 Value rating: 9/10 Overall: The sherry contributes an interesting fruit aroma.

The harsh astringency on the nose initially concerned me, but it turned out to be somewhat acceptable, especially after allowing it a minute to breathe. I could imagine this working as a decent mixer. While there aren't many complex layers, the sherry casks impart a distinct flavor profile, and the mouthfeel is not too unpleasant.

I tried it neat. The aroma is hot with fruity alcohol, like cherries soaked in spirits, and hints of oak. The palate is also hot, with notes of wood and... that's it. I believe this would be an excellent mixer for bourbon mules, but it's not a sipper for me.

An incredibly tasty malted bourbon. Exceeds expectations for its cost. Apparently, others agree. I returned to the store a week later to purchase more and they were sold out. Too bad. If you see this, get it. A great deal at this price.

The standard Winchester isn't anything remarkable, but I find myself quite liking this version. It's a solid drink on its own, needing just a little ice.

Charlee Dempsey 3.3

Abundant oak. Not bad for the cost, but the alcohol was too prominent for sipping it straight.
