An annual release from Whiskey Acres, this bourbon's mash bill is 75% corn, 15% soft winter wheat, and 10% malted barley. It first matures for at least 5 years in 53-gallon new oak barrels from Kelvin Cooperage with a #3 char. Subsequently, it spends 3 months in maple syrup barrels from Sugar Hill Bush and Funk's Grove farms. It is bottled at cask strength, which differs with each release.

My bottle was a higher proof (116.4), which likely contributed to its body, but the maple sweetness dominates the corn and caramel flavors, which are otherwise intriguing. It has an appealing dusty, grainy character and seems much smoother than its proof suggests. It's enjoyable as a dessert drink, but I'm not sure it's worth the cost for a smaller bottle...
Meh, they used the maple cask to hide how young the spirit is but charged a premium as if it were a well-balanced drink - a definite pass, and I'll never buy it again at $50 for 375ml (I don't usually judge based on price, but this one crossed the line in my opinion).
The aroma is full of walnut skins, vanilla, salted caramel, red oak sawdust, and subtle maple notes. On the palate, the maple is prominent with butterscotch and vanilla. It has a rich, slightly sweet finish that fades quickly and is easily forgotten.
The aroma presents toasted walnuts, rustic bread, vanilla, and oak. It has a wonderful mouthfeel. It starts sweet and finishes with a gradual warmth. The taste includes notes of shortbread cookie, caramel, and pie spice.
Excellent viscosity. It has a thicker texture, as one might anticipate from maple syrup. The smell is fantastic. I'm very pleased with this selection.
