Crafted and bottled in Oxnard, California at Sespe Creek Distillery by David Brandt, PhD. Before dedicating himself to distilling, he was developing groundbreaking disease-testing techniques, diabetes, and cancer drugs. Warbringer is a bold whiskey; this bourbon brings significant smoke to the table. It's expertly made with a mash bill of 75% hand-roasted, mesquite-smoked corn and malted rye. The flavor is deep and smoky, concluding with hints of pine, honey, cresol, and burnt sugar. It bursts with banana and campfire notes, mellowed by a creamy vanilla finish that isn't as smoky as the aroma suggests. Warbringer truly captures the essence of the Southwest; if you enjoy BBQ and whiskey, this is your ideal pour. It's a well-balanced and intriguing whiskey that is pioneering a new category. The mesquite-smoked bourbon stands well on its own and also offers an adventurous element to cocktails.

A pleasing aroma of banana foster mixed with corn syrup and Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce drizzled on hot mesquite charcoal briquettes. Similar tastes are present on the palate, though the ethanol is somewhat sharp. The finish is lengthy, sweet, and smoky, leaving a tingle on the tongue and cheeks.

This is unequivocally the worst whiskey I've ever encountered. During a blind tasting with twelve members of my whiskey group, featuring fourteen different whiskeys (including some truly poor ones), this ranked definitively last. We all agreed it was harsh and unpleasant, comparable to drinking gun cleaner. Simply awful.

This California bourbon is delicious! I'm happy I discovered Warbringer. It's like buttery popcorn, with a touch of sugar, and then smoked over a mesquite fire. And it seems to transform with every sip. It's genuinely the finest bourbon I've ever encountered.
