50ml samples purchased in Iceland. A lovely bouquet presenting various local herbs, you can sense the arctic flora, lichen, small berry bushes, but no forest notes. A fruity, acidic yet sweet character, rhubarb drizzled with honey, quite a lot of honey indeed. Surprisingly, juniper berries are not the star here. On the palate, distinct cereal notes, captivating, with plenty of root and lichen imparting acrid and full-bodied flavors, a subtle fruity note emerges, in beautiful harmony with the initial flavors. The rest is typical gin territory, alcohol, juniper berries, and also some mint. A botanical finish, you truly sense the cabbage used but without the unpleasant boiled/acrid/green aspect. A pleasant mouthfeel, not too spicy. Truly original and flavorful.

This is one of my favorite gins. Rhubarb was a novel experience for me, and I enjoyed it immensely. I was genuinely saddened that I couldn't obtain a bottle without returning to Iceland.
A superb gin, with a very prominent barley character.
