A striking copper color. The nose carries a somewhat fruity character and a bright oak presence. Notes of tobacco leaf, malt, sweet corn, and burnt caramel are detected on the aroma. Within the glass, the flavors are concentrated, subtly spicy, and rich, offering a full spectrum of tastes, from deep malt and barrel char to high notes of baking spice and black pepper. The finish is notably long, concluding with a dry, slightly chalky sensation. We thoroughly enjoyed this bourbon and anticipate future releases from VGD.
