Tobermory Original Hebridean Gin

Aroma: Sweet citrus notes like sherbet lemon, mandarin, and ruby grapefruit, along with fragrant tea. Elderflower is present but only detectable if you already know it's an ingredient; I doubt anyone could identify it otherwise. Taste: A sweet arrival where tea is immediately noticeable and remains the dominant flavor. Citrus notes (orange peel) appear later. The texture is smooth and oily. Strangely, there is absolutely no juniper detected on the palate. Finish: Medium to long, with notes of tea and citrus. The juniper level is so low it's almost undetectable, resulting in a gentle and citrus-forward character overall. When mixed with tonic water, this gin gets easily lost, and I can't imagine using it in cocktails, so I recommend drinking it neat. It's pleasant, but I find the flavor profile unbalanced, making it a gin that won't be a regular purchase for me. Tasted from a sample obtained at Tobermory distillery. A very pronounced profile of juniper, bright fruity notes, strong floral elements, and something resembling black tea or Earl Grey with a hint of bergamot. However, the various components seem to compete for dominance, especially when tonic's acidity is added, creating a slight discord with the other flavors.

This is very smooth and less intensely floral compared to many other gins. I suspect there might be some bergamot in it?

Offers notes of heather and pine. It brings to mind whiskey.

Clear flavor profile, exceptional value for money.
