Aubrey Calderon 3.5

Smell: Coriander, juniper, cumin, lemon. Taste: The start was very focused on seed spices like coriander, cumin, fenugreek, and caraway, and this character persisted. There's a bit of citrus and a floral note, but the overall impression was a strong, baking-spice-dominant character. The texture was creamy, though not as much as the distillery's Founder’s Release gin. End: Medium length. Seed spices and citrus. A brief assessment from a tasting event at our local liquor store today. Three Cuts Distiller's Release gin is produced by Turner Stillhouse, situated in the township of Grindlewald (an awesome name!) near Launceston, Tasmania. I liked this gin but felt it wasn't as adaptable as Three Cuts' Founder’s Gin (which has a more subdued palate). Nevertheless, for a Negroni or another robust cocktail, its extended presence and stronger profile would definitely make it the superior option. I'm giving it the same score as the Founder’s Choice. Both are solid, but each excels in a different application. "Good": 83/100 (3.5 stars)
