Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye, an uncut and unfiltered Kentucky straight rye, is named after the New Orleans bartender credited with first using rye whiskey in a Sazerac cocktail. The Fall 2025 bottling was aged for over 6 years and presented at a barrel proof of 129.8 (64.9% ABV). It will be available in October 2025 with a suggested retail price of $149.99.

Aroma is less pronounced, with notes of butterscotch and subtle mint. Palate: sweet peanut and chicory, subtle vanilla, but feels grainier than the Sazerac. Finish is long and sweet with spearmint, caramel, subtle tannins. Almost like a snickerdoodle cookie. Compared to Sazerac 18, the Sazerac is more oily, flavorful, oaky, and easier to drink.
Notes of orchard fruits, fruit jam, strawberry, nectarines, white grape, plum, licorice, brown sugar, and rye.
The middle palate is a little peachy and ends with chocolate. Otherwise, it's a fairly smooth rye!
