This second edition of the Glenrothes 1992 Vintage Single Malt has matured for an additional 10 years compared to the initial bottling in 2004. These are the identical casks selected for the first release, which were retained for extended maturation in both refill sherry and ex-bourbon barrels, marking it as the first Glenrothes vintage to be exclusively matured in refill casks. It is important to note that the whisky was originally produced by Malt Master John Ramsay, and the casks for this edition were bottled by his successor, Gordon Motion. Additionally, this whisky is non-chill filtered.

Nose: Sweet fruit aromas, particularly cherry and Orange, with a faint lemon note. Caramel and maple are present. There's a subtle sweetness, possibly from a sherry cask? Flavor: Bitter toffee, a pleasant peppery taste with notes of coffee and chocolate, and a subdued maraschino cherry. A beautiful maltiness underlies everything.
A wonderfully balanced and flavorful dram! The nose is quite indistinct, but the palate is incredibly smooth and silky. I detect tropical fruits and honey. It's very similar to graham crackers dissolving in your mouth. The silkiness prompted me to chill the second dram slightly. The result was liquid ambrosia!
Costing a lot, we savored the entire dram. It had gentle peatiness. My partner and I both found it pleasing.
