The aroma has candied apples and a touch of smoke; it's remarkable because it tastes just like Yamazaki 12, but sweeter and with definite, balanced, light smokiness and peat at the end, otherwise red apple, a little floral note at the front; low, slow heat; thick texture; long, easy finish of dried fruit and light smoke

About this bottle
The Essence of Suntory series debuted in Japan on February 27th, 2018. Each of the three available bottles in the collection showcases contemporary, artistic label designs and distinctive flavor profiles, differing significantly from Suntory's prior releases. The Yamazaki Peated Malt is noteworthy because the distillery has seldom offered peated expressions historically. Produced in 2005, it was bottled in 2018 following 12 years of maturation. Distribution is restricted to Japan and the online retailer Dekanta.
