This añejo tequila is one of three offerings within the 2020 Barrel Select Collection. For this range, Tequila Ocho founders Carlos Camarena and Tomas Estes collaborated with Maison Ferrand's Master Blender, Alexandre Gabriel. While the añejo tequilas are consistently crafted from 100% blue weber agave from a specific field in Los Altos, Jalisco, the Transatlantic expression was matured in rum casks from Fiji and Panama, alongside Maison Ferrand cognac casks, deviating from the typical used ex-bourbon barrels. It became available in December 2020.

If you appreciate bourbon, this tequila is for you. It delivers the same oak and barrel flavors found in bourbon. It's quite good and distinctive, unlike anything I've tasted before, in the best possible way.
