A 17-year-old scotch bottled at 55.9% Nose - Classic bourbon barrel-finished scotch with fruity notes. Prominent citrus, light grassy hints, and aged oak, though there's a slight wet barnyard-like quality. Taste - Surprisingly very sweet. I didn't detect any of this sweetness on the nose. It has layers of oak and vanilla, followed by a light apple flavor at the end. Teaninich has reached a point of being over-oaked, and it's really presenting some off-notes here. The overall body is great, the flavor is bold, and it's surprisingly sweet and strongly flavored. Adding a lot of water only brings out the bitter notes and starts to mask the sweetness. This is a bad whisky. Avoid it.
