TahWahKaro Four Grain Bourbon

Observed in my Glencairn, this barrel strength bourbon displays a brown leather color with thin, watery legs adhering to the glass. The aroma is robust and potent, featuring cinnamon, Hot Tamales candy, wood and barrel notes, cherry, decadent vanilla, bubblegum, and verdant grass. The taste is thick, nearly viscous, with hints of caramel, cherry, oak, cinnamon and cardamom, brown sugar, molasses, and black tea. The finish is intense, lingering, and spicy with cinnamon.

This four grain offers a truly distinct flavor profile. It presents as a robust corn mash bill. The aroma is rather uneventful, which is deceptive given the palate. I don't dislike it.

I had higher expectations. I've heard positive things about their innovative approach, but this particular bottling tasted like burnt medication to me. It wasn't to my preference, though I'm sure it will appeal to some.

Deep hue, wispy legs. Begins with butter, cinnamon, and corn. The finish brings cinnamon, caramel, pepper, and a touch of toasted oak.

It's distinct, with a flavor somewhat like a certain other brand, but without the harshness. It has nutty and burnt charcoal notes.

A very promising start from this distillery. If you enjoy unique spirits, it's worth buying a drink at a bar.
