Initially, the aroma contained some acetone alongside ethanol. After a few minutes of swirling, a rich scent of figs, raisins, cherries, and butterscotch emerged. A trace of ethanol and a slightly sharp edge remained in the nose. The taste is sweet, not intricate, leaning towards figs with a hint of black coffee as it gently fades. Just a few straightforward flavor notes. It's really not a terrible beverage and could be quite versatile in many cocktails. Perhaps even in a highball? It's worth investigating... I wouldn't sip this from a snifter after dinner, but I'd enjoy it from a flask while golfing in the colder months! I appreciate it, but I'm not passionate about it, and I likely won't purchase another bottle. However, at a price below $20, it offers excellent value. It could be useful in the kitchen and as a mixer for various uses. I'd consider using it to enhance homemade sangria for the holidays!

It concluded with a subtle presence of baking spices. Upon tasting, it offered a sweet sensation. The dried fruits, particularly prunes and raisins, were prominent. Oak was present, contributing to a smooth character. The consistency was lighter than anticipated, not as full-bodied as cognac, but still quite flavorful. The ending was brief. It began sweet, then transitioned to a slight bitterness akin to licorice or anise. A touch of spice and warmth accompanied its descent. A longer finish would have been preferable. Considering the cost, this brandy is quite pleasing. It's very rich in flavor and a solid option for those seeking something sweet and mild. Despite the short finish, the abundant flavors make it enjoyable.

If you suddenly change from whiskey to this you will find it very friendly and very sugary in the first 10 seconds. After that it is just sickly sweet that you don't want to continue anymore. There is not much complexity in this one unlike XO.

Clear copper appearance, with legs that appear sporadically. Nose: spice, like cinnamon, and distilled grape. Flavor: sweetness, cinnamon spice, grape skin, caramel, vanilla, and dates. Medium body. Moderate finish. RJT
