About this bottle

Founded in 2018, Sông Cái Distillery holds the distinction of being Vietnam's inaugural gin distillery. Daniel Nguyen, a Vietnamese-American who serves as the founder and distiller, collaborates with agricultural producers and foragers in Northern Vietnam to procure botanicals. This dry gin incorporates 16 distinct botanicals, including jungle pepper, black cardamom, green turmeric, licorice, and heirloom pomelo. The name Sông Cái, meaning "Mother River," was introduced to the US in the winter of 2021.

Jude Vergara 4.5

Some flavors are familiar, while others were harder to identify, but overall it's very well-balanced and, like the finest gins, strongly evokes a specific place. My only issue is that it's not yet available in our region!

Debbie Allred 4.3

Wow. This is good. Possibly one of the most potent flavors among all the gins I've tasted in Vietnam. Yet, it remains very balanced and full of aroma. I'm impressed.

Julianna Dinh 2.3

This is an intriguing product with a compelling backstory, but I personally do not favor its spice-dominant flavor profile.
