Micaela Ring 2.3

Nose: Citrus, juniper, a whisper of pine needles, ethanol. Not much else. Palate: Typical gin flavors, focusing on juniper and lemon zest. It starts mild and uneventful, continuing that way except for a developing pepper note. The mouthfeel is acceptable but unremarkable. Finish: Extremely short. The palate fades into a sweet alcohol sensation. This is one of the most unremarkable gins I've encountered. It's a recent venture into spirits from The Skye Brewing Co., located in Uig on Skye's west coast. Their main products are excellent ales and beers; I'd suggest sticking with those and overlooking this. There isn't much more to add. It lacks any interesting character for sipping neat, and at £40 a bottle, it's not a recommended daily mixer. Tasted from a distillery sample. “Adequate”: 73/100 (2.25 stars)
