I intended to purchase a bottle of Absolut Elit at the liquor store, but it was out of stock. Examining the available options, I decided to try a bottle of Sid's, a product from British Columbia. It's pot-distilled, which is said to enhance flavor. It's made from winter wheat and barley malt. I sampled it neat, on the rocks, and with a few olives, and was very impressed by the taste and flavor. It's very smooth, with a quality that belies its $30 price in Ontario. For a vodka of this caliber at this price point, it's a fantastic discovery.
