The aroma exhibits sherry undertones and a touch of spice. The palate reveals some chocolate notes, though not as pronounced as anticipated. A bit of sweetness and spice mingle with faint sherry hints, making for a respectable drink.

About this bottle
This is not a flavored whisky. The fourth release of this bottling, which began in 2018, exclusively features 100% sherry-matured single cask single malts sourced from Speyside. Chocolate is the primary flavor, with each cask selected for its "cocoa-rich tasting notes." Bottled at 48% ABV, it contains no added coloring or chill-filtration. Production is limited to 3,000 bottles, and it became available in July 2021.

Compared to a full sherry, the sherry notes aren't very strong. It might seem rather bland. Perhaps it's the initial opening, but the sherry sweetness seems slightly muted by the alcohol. To put it extremely, at this price point, you might question its value.
