Elliot Nobles 2.5

Naturally, I overpaid for this rum, but I was on vacation in Malmö, Sweden, where things are pricey. The rum was harsh and bitter. I don't believe the bottle was old, as only the top had been consumed. The positive aspects (literally) were the oak flavors and spice notes I could detect from the quality of the barrels. However, there are absolutely no hints of vanilla or honey. And the sugar cane used for this is likely no better than that in cheaper Havana Club. It tastes quite bitter as it goes down. In summary, this is a moderately good rum with a distinct taste of oak barrels and low-quality sugar cane. It's not bad, but it's certainly not refined either.

Vince Hopkins 4.5

Incredibly smooth. However, it doesn't quite measure up to some of the spirits I tried from Cuba, though I can't recall their names.

Denis Naranjo 4.5

A little sharp initially, but it becomes pleasant after swirling. A good aftertaste with hints of coconut and vanilla.

Darrel Kurtz 4.8

Possesses a sweet, vanilla-like flavor profile. It's very lean, and the aftertaste is incredibly long-lasting.
