About this bottle

Rieger's Caffe Amaro is a collaborative creation between J. Rieger & Co. and Thou Mayest Coffee Roaster of Kansas City. This Italian-style amaro features coffee flavoring derived from single-origin Sumatran beans, blended with botanicals and herbs such as juniper berries, anise, cardamom, orange peel, spearmint, and vanilla. It undergoes a brief period of aging in a whiskey barrel to develop its distinct taste before being sweetened with cane syrup. While not a direct substitute for a cup of coffee, one bottle of this amaro contains approximately 467mg of caffeine.

Isaiah Victor 3.8

I'm not very familiar with Amaros or bitter drinks, but this one has many appealing qualities. Excellent coffee notes, prominent orange zest, a touch of demerara, and a powerful dose of cardamom. I didn't notice it before, but menthol is a fitting description. I need to try this again when I have more leisure time to reflect and savor it.

Despite its unassuming location under a bridge in an industrial area, this amaro is fantastic!

Charlotte Mack 3.8

An amaro with menthol and just the right touch of coffee. Excellent served over ice.

Maryann Bair 3.8

Pleasant coffee notes, leaning towards the sweeter end.

Thurman Farrar 4.0

Wonderful... a luxurious blend of bitterness and herbs
