A dry, firm, crisp nose with earthy high notes. Moderately sweet, with enough wood to balance the sugary character. It's well-balanced, with brief appearances of baking spices. Halfway through the long finish, the barrel aging becomes prominent, contributing a semi-bitter, tannic end. The flavor of the cane persists throughout, creating a memorable base for the wood notes. A truly fine and distinctive aged rum that invites thoughtful consideration.

About this bottle
Renegade Rum is a project focused on terroir, originating in Grenada. The distillery harvests, mills, and distills fresh sugarcane from individual farms, field by field. Single Farm Cuvée: Dunfermline is a blend of distinct terroirs from Dunfermline Farm. The sugarcane variety used is lacalome red. The distillation process includes both pot and column stills. Maturation uses first-fill bourbon and French oak ex-Bordeaux wine casks. Aged for 2.1 years, it is bottled at 50% ABV. Available from December 2023, this is one of four primary rums being introduced in the US. (Suggested retail price $59.99)
