The Renegade Rum Distillery in Grenada focuses on the island's microclimates and the sugarcane varieties cultivated there. This particular bottling features the Purple Tallboy variety from the Ball Pasture Field, within the Lower Crater Lake South terroir area on Lake Antoine Farm. The rum, made from fresh sugarcane juice distilled in a pot still, was bottled without any aging, chill-filtration, coloring, or added sugar. It has been available in the U.S. since August 2022, retailing for $65.

A lively sugarcane aroma with a vibrant freshness. The palate has significant depth, a profound root-like character that also possesses a bright vegetal quality. It's very grassy with a nearly chewable texture. Compact and peppery with a surprising woodiness and an exceptionally long finish. This is a distinctive rum that in some ways evokes a mild Islay Scotch. A spirit for thoughtful sipping.
