The aroma has notes of figgy pudding, raisins, cocoa, cinnamon, dark wood, nougat, and peanut brittle. A touch of ethanol is present, though perfection is elusive. Wow. The taste is like a liquid Tootsie Roll, featuring chocolate, gooey fudge, caramel, toffee, malted milk ball, strawberry cream, and nutmeg. The flavors are rich and indulgent. The finish continues the palate's journey, transforming into carrot cake, marshmallow, peanut butter, date, black pepper, cinnamon roll, and a whisper of balanced oak. The texture is divine: full-bodied, silky, and buttery. This is absolutely incredible. It's the finest American Single Malt I've ever encountered. While decidedly dessert-like and not the most intricate whiskey I've tasted, the elements present are superb. I'm tempted to give it a perfect score, but I desire a bit more complexity for that. Nevertheless, at $84.99, I returned the next day for a backup and found the shelf empty. What a bummer! Absolutely buy it.
