I've observed this is currently ranked a tier above The Irishman Founders at Proof66. It's a blend of 20% malt and 80% grain, while The Irishman is a mix of malt and pot still whiskies. I was curious why the rankings seemed inverted from what one might anticipate. The reason is this is an exceptionally well-crafted blend. (Certain skillfully made and balanced Scotch blends surpass numerous single malts – consider Compass Box.) Poured neat, it has a pale golden amber color. The aroma is slightly sweet, with honey-citrus, and a touch of floral. The taste is vanilla, oak, some spiciness, and a warmth at the finish. These flavors are also present in the aftertaste, and they linger! It feels to me that the longer I savor this whisky in my mouth, appreciating the harmonious interplay of flavors, the longer the finish extends. I'm certainly pleased I decided to try this. The price is also reasonable, $25 in my area.

Fruity notes, mostly apples. Finish: Short. Warm. It's smooth initially but provides a small kick at the end. Overall Thoughts: I genuinely like it. I've encountered some rather unfavorable reviews or simply comments calling it average. The aroma is simple, but I believe it's a very well-made blend, and I truly appreciate the interesting complexity on the palate. This is the kind of whiskey I'd consider ideal for sipping before bed after a peaceful day.

Like most Irish whiskeys, it's not overly complex, but still a solid, proper drink for the money. An easy, approachable spirit that would fit well into the collection. A decent alternative to Jameson if you desire a bit more from your Irish whiskey without a significant price increase. Just a minor improvement, but executed well.

Extremely faint on the aroma. The most challenging whiskey I've encountered to discern an aromatic profile from. The aroma has vanilla and faint orange notes. On the palate, it presents wheat cereal and honey notes. The finish offers light toasted bread alongside hints of cocoa and mild oak. Fortunately, it has a surprisingly longer finish than anticipated due to the faint aroma, lasting a medium duration. There are superior Irish malts aged in bourbon barrels available within this price range, such as Powers, Bushmills, and Jameson.

Nose: butter, cream, slight vanilla, barest hint of fruit - apple or pear. Palate: butter cream, butter cookies, shortbread cookies. A slight breast taste comes in later. Finish: shortbread cookies with a very mild alcohol burn, more of a warming really. This whiskey is not complex nor amazing, but it is really enjoyable. It’s friendly and mild with no surprises, nothing unpleasant. It might be a bit boring for some people but there’s really nothing to dislike.

Nose: I detect the hint of strawberry that an expert suggests. Very faint honey. Just a slight reminder of American honey (my go-to college drink). Palate: Light apple, vanilla, and spice. Required a little water to enhance. Overall, it's not mind-blowing, but it's a relaxing whiskey that's easy to drink if you're not a serious whiskey enthusiast.
