Puncher's Chance The D12tance Bourbon

NOSE Oak, dried dark fruit, corn meal, strawberry candy, brown sugar, burnt butter ice cream, baking spice, hints of orchard fruit and nuts. A delightful, warm, fruity, oaky, spicy whiskey. PALATE Oak, dried dark fruit, corn meal, strawberry candy, brown sugar, dark honey, toffee, vanilla, baking spice, and nuts. A good, solid whiskey, with absolutely nothing to criticize. FINISH Medium to long, with oak, dark fruit, dark sweetness, and baking spice. BALANCE, BODY, and FEEL Well-balanced, medium to full body, with a velvety texture.

When enjoyed neat, it is packed with baking spices, and it opens up considerably on ice. It finishes smoothly. Be careful not to add too much ice, as it significantly dulls the flavor. I truly loved it, and considering it's a 12-year-old, the price and flavor are fantastic. The bottle's appearance is also quite striking.

Whatever expert assessment was given for this, is baffling. It’s a passable bourbon but definitely not worth over $120. I’d call this an average-tasting bourbon.

Apologies to those who paid $120; I was fortunate to get mine for $90 and am delighted. It's very jammy with a hint of char and just the right amount of intensity.

Starts sweet and stays that way until the end.
