Initially, it smells like newly shelled pecans. The liquid is a pale amber and has a viscosity that clings to your palate. If this were wine, I'd remark on its impressive "legs" for how it coats the glass. The first taste brings a bit of spicy "heat," but it's not offensive. Perhaps a TOUCH of caramel and PLENTY of leather, and maybe tobacco? It has a spiciness that might soften with age, yet it's extremely drinkable for both those who prefer bourbon and those who don't.
