From 2021, at 119.9 proof. Smells of tobacco and caramel. The high proof delivers sugar and vanilla, with apple, providing a depth akin to a single malt, plus grass and toast, concluding with a nutty finish of medium duration, fading to brown sugar. A larger sip also reveals dill and spearmint. Retasted 11.23.22: More grain-forward now, still sweet with vanilla and candy apple. Water enhances the rye spice.
Nose: baked apples, a touch of baking spice, and vanilla. Palate: honey graham crackers, anise, melted butter popcorn. Finish: medium to long with vanilla, black pepper, and cinnamon.
