Peat's Beast Single Malt

Intriguing. Unlike typical Islays with bold aromas and finishes, this seems reserved in those aspects. It's almost undetectable until it reaches the back of the mouth, where, surprisingly, it erupts into a potent peaty mouthful. I perceive more peat than smoke, perhaps reflecting its name. It hints at an olive oil-like quality, subtle in flavor and in its mouthfeel as it progresses. A potential drawback is its lack of depth. It makes for an excellent tasting experience, though.

Thick meaty peat, but a strange tang behind it, spicy 1.75 spicy heat, nice oily meaty and bbq fullness, generally lacks any depth, a very simple one-dimensional whisky 2 campfire smothering heat, iodine hit that makes you nauseous 1 2 creamy, marshmallow, chocolate, campfire smooth, sweet cherry 3.75 flat, no complexity, sweetness and with little smoke but a lot of oaky - the sweet contrast is a huge disappointment and doesn't go with the accompaniment 0.25 not sustained and no flavor 0.25 1.25

Presents a bright golden straw color in the glass. The nose features petroleum (perhaps more like Vaseline than gasoline), significant smoke, mild peat, and is very sweet. The taste is sweet and thin, with more smoke; I struggle to detect the peat. The finish is quick and drying. It genuinely tastes more like mezcal than whisky. It's extremely young and will definitely serve as a mixer, possibly interesting for home aging projects or an infinity bottle.

Smoke is present on the nose, followed by what seems like apple cider vinegar. The palate offers sweet and salty taffy with a creamy texture that gives way to the smoke. The finish brings bonfire and hot dogs with toasted marshmallows. Delicious! I should get more of this! Essentially, a whisky perfect for camping trips.

Aroma: orange zest, salt, smoke Taste: peat, more salt, and campfire smoke Finish: somewhat weak, with additional salt and smoke It's not bad, certainly peaty, but likely a step below Laphroaig 10 or Ardbeg 10, which offer a bit more body.

Appears to be a very young Islay. Aroma: green apple, smoke of course, peaches, chocolate, bubblegum. Taste: peat with ashes and a fruity aftertaste. A bit of burn. The finish is medium with almost solely smoke. Not bad, but not amazing.
