The Heritage Collection releases are consistently excellent. An inviting aroma of significant oak, vibrant rye, and mellow sweet corn greets you. The taste bursts forth with bright corn and soft barley at the start, followed by more rye spice than anticipated. Deeper notes include oak stave and fresh char, evoking old leather, dried tobacco, and brown bread. The finish is exceptionally long, with fleeting hints of mint and baked apple. Overall, a confident and mature bourbon.

About this bottle
This 16th limited edition from Heaven Hill, Parker's Heritage Double Barreled Blend, features two Kentucky straight bourbons made with HH's standard mash bill (78% corn, 10% rye, 12% malted barley). One component, comprising 67% of the blend, was aged for 13 years before being transferred to new, charred American oak barrels with a level 3 char for an additional four weeks of maturation. This was then combined with a 15-year-old bourbon, making up the remaining 33% of the bottling. It is presented at barrel proof (132.2) without chill-filtration. Heaven Hill will contribute a portion of the proceeds to support ALS research and patient care in honor of the late Master Distiller Parker Beam. It became available nationally and internationally in limited quantities in early December 2022. (SRP $174.99)

The aroma is somewhat reserved but sweet. The taste is amazing, like French toast with butter and maple syrup, plus oak and toffee. Definitely a complex dram. The finish is pleasant and lasts a good while. It's personally a top 5 pour for me, offering a very intriguing texture and deep complexity. Next time, I'll need writing materials to record all the smells and tastes. It lives up to the hype!
Massive whiskey. The aroma is somewhat subdued and what one might expect from a double barrel whiskey. The taste is where this excels. Leather, oak, coffee, chocolate vanilla. White cake and HEAT! A pleasant tingly finish. I am personally moving away from these gigantic proof monsters, but I can still enjoy this occasionally. Without question, this is a really good whiskey.
Nose: Blackberry, sweet black cherry, pencil lead, caramel. Body: Medium to full. Palate: An incredibly pleasing initial taste. Cinnamon, caramel, red licorice. Finish: Extended, smoky. Note: Sampled from a friend's pour. Highly anticipated. This is a truly delightful dram, full-bodied and satisfyingly smoky-sweet.
I absolutely adored this bottle. The nose, wow. It's unlike any bourbon I've encountered. The palate is nearly perfect. Oak is ideal. Sweet at first, but just slightly dry on the finish, though not in a negative way. Simply an exceptional bourbon.
