Nose - Creamed corn, candy corn, sweet cream, cotton candy, hay, artificial sweetener Taste - Caramel, vanilla, corn syrup, lightly astringent sweetness, artificial sweetener-like sweet corn, sweet creamed corn Finish - Astringent sweetness, slight bitterness, corn syrup sweetness, artificial sweetener Score - 72/100 Final Thoughts - Right off the bat, this one smelled fairly young. It felt like this was barely aged and felt quite young and astringent. Loads of corn in various forms, but I just realized it felt a bit creamy/buttery, most likely from the wheat. It had this sweetness that went back and forth from being artificial sweetener-like to being corn syrup like. Overall it wasn't horrible, but it definitely felt young and flawed. Would I drink it if offered? - No Would I specifically order it? - No Would I buy a bottle? - No NOTE - All reviews are done without factoring in price.

First pour. It's quite sweet, and the rough edges I noticed in the initial Pike Street versions are mostly absent. While the original had a 3-year age statement, this one is Non-Age Stated, clearly indicating the inclusion of plenty of 4+ year old spirit. The aroma is butterscotch and oak. Throughout the experience, from aroma to taste to finish, there's a flavor reminiscent of roasted sweet corn from a state fair. Caramel and vanilla flavors are prominent initially but become very subtle, with a hint of corn chips on the finish. The finish is medium-to-long with notes of corn cob and pepper. This will be a regular in my rotation for a good while.
