Slightly spicy with a prominent honey and hints of cinnamon coating the palate, transitioning smoothly with subtle wood and maple notes for a long and rich finish. The Sauterne Cask finish truly enhances the mouthfeel but it's a bit too sweet overall.

About this bottle
Havana Club's Pacto Navio Rum is named in honor of an 1815 accord between France and Spain, during which trade ships transported wine casks between the nations and Cuba, returning with rum in the empty barrels. This dark rum is aged in traditional oak and subsequently finished in French Sauternes casks.

It smells sweet and zesty. Starts with a strong impact that calms to a pleasant lingering taste.
A passable rum, but not exceptional for the price. It has a subtle vanilla taste at the end.
Sweet, with wood and spice notes.
